Private Chapel of Rest

After a death, loved ones can decide whether to view the body in our various private and tranquil chapel of rest. This is a highly personal decision, but many people find that it helps them in their grieving process.

We will explain the option to you fully - if you decide you would like a viewing in the chapel of rest, we will make every effort to welcome you at a time to suit you, including evenings and weekends. The deceased is usually able to rest in the chapel for several days before the funeral, once all of the formalities have been completed.

We understand that viewing a body can be daunting and emotional - you do not have to go through this alone. If you wish, we will be happy to accompany you and to stay with you for as long as you wish.

During chapel of rest visits, you may wish to place flowers or letters in the coffin or in the memory box we provide, which will then remain with your loved one and will be cremated or buried with them.

May you find comfort

in knowing that

your loved one

touched the lives

of so many others

and gave them the gift

of many happy memories
